What to do in the garden during June

Regularly feed your fruit, veggies and ornamentals in pots and growing bags. I prefer a liquid fertiliser. The growing media will start to run low on nutrients around this time

Mow lawns regularly, providing they are not suffering from drought.

Carefully remove faded flowers and developing seed pods from your Rhododendrons. Remove any unopened flower buds as they may harbour bud blast

Regularly remove sideshoots on your cordon tomatoes and tie plants to supports.

Directly sow courgettes, pumpkins and french and runner beans around this time.

Deadhead your Delphiniums and Lupins to encourage a second flush of flowers.
